The Proper Diet to Avoid Tooth Diseases
Having a great set of teeth does not only mean maintaining it properly by flossing and brushing his teeth. The person must also learn to have the proper diet or nutrition for him to help prevent certain diseases.
The worst part is that the disease that can be found in the mouth, which is tooth decay and periodontal disease are the most common disease to man.
Periodontal disease is disease that is the leading case of tooth loss in adults because they affect the supporting tissues in the tooth. However poor nutrition does not directly contribute to periodontal disease. But the disease will progress for someone who does not figure out what the proper diet is. Another disease is tooth decay. This happens when acid from oral bacteria causes the hard tissue to be destroyed slowly.
If you’re worried about losing your teeth about these diseases, don’t go over the edge by becoming freaked out with food. You can avoid them by having the proper diet; if you remember the food pyramid that has been taught to you try to value it. Remember to eat nutritional foods such as fruits, vegetables, breads, cereals, milk, dairy products, meat, chicken, fish or beans. Eating these basic food groups will help increase your minerals and vitamins that help prevent the disease.
Choose your snack foods well. Try to avoid sticky snack foods such as sticky candies or cakes and even dry fruits, instead eat raw vegetables, nuts, plain yogurt, and sugarless candies.
Also try to avoid your mouth from being too dry. Try moistening your mouth by drinking lots of water. Some people may consider saliva disgusting, but they are important as well because they protect both the soft and oral tissue. If you think your mouth is dry (literally), not dry when you think that you bore people to death. Eat sugarless candy or gum to stimulate saliva.
Combining foods helps neutralize acids and restrain tooth decay. Instead of eating fermentable carbohydrates such as cookies and crackers, try eating them as part of your meal.
If you thought hat it’s a smart idea to be fat and eat a lot of food to prevent dental disease. It isn’t such a smart thing as you are opening up yourself to other diseases such as heart disease, obesity, diabetes and hypertension. So don’t overeat as well, as too much of something is really bad.
