White Teeth but Bad Breath?

Having white teeth will be useless if you have other dental problems such as gingivitis or bad breath. You may just scare other people with your white teeth if you have bleeding gums and bad breathe. Remember one part doesn’t constitute a whole (that didn’t make sense). This article will help you learn more about gingivitis and bad breath and how you can avoid them.

Gingivitis is a disease whose symptoms will give you bleeding gums. The worst part is this is only the stepping stone of much worse disease. It can lead to periodontal disease or even actual bone loss. Because gingivitis is caused by bacteria bad breath is related with it too.

The bacteria are bad because they secrete acids and contribute to cavity confirmation. They infect the gums particularly the gum line area which will manifest as bleeding and irritating gums. When the bacteria in your mouth becomes uncontrollable it will definitely lead to stale breath.

There is a theory that it is the anaerobic bacteria that are found in the tongue and throat, produces sulfur which produces bad breath that are hard to get rid. The anaerobes create volatile sulfur compounds that produce a chemical reaction when eating foods such as coffee, meat, and alcohol. It will give you breath smelling like rotten eggs.

When infected with gingivitis, bacteria can easily enter the bloodstream. When it happens you are more at risk. Gingivitis in a worse case scenario will cause gum recession and lead to bone loss. To prevent this from happening try not to brush too hard. Instead try using a brush with soft bristles in the proper motion that your dentist or hygienist recommends. This will help prevent your gums from eroding.

Prevention and Treatments:

• If you already have gingivitis, you’re doctor will recommend you to have under the gum cleanings. The name itself is already creepy. It’s like something that will be done on a dentist horror movie. It will be exactly the way you think it is, it will be a pretty unpleasant experience.

• There are lot ways to treat this disease, but prevention is best. You can prevent this by brushing and flossing properly. You may also want to use a non-alcoholic mouth wash.

• Sonic care is a special toothbrush that might help you have a better oral hygiene. It helps because this brush vibrates faster which gives it great cleaning abilities.

Don’t be dismayed if you have gingivitis even if you have great oral habits. Maybe it’s just the way of life.
